Founded in 2017 as Sports Computing AS, Athlera began its journey at the intersection of sports and technology. The company's first product, KickerAce, was a football training app that used AI, computer vision, and physics-based modeling to measure shot speed, accuracy, and placement using just a smartphone camera. The solution gamified football training for youth players and was adopted in over 80 countries.
Despite its technical success, the B2C nature of KickerAce presented scalability challenges. This prompted a strategic pivot into B2B, leading to the creation of Athlera – a modular AI platform tailored for the sports, health, and performance industry.
Athlera builds on the foundational technology, user insights, and investment from the KickerAce era, while expanding its capabilities to deliver intelligent tools for data management, analysis, motion tracking, and real-time feedback.
